RAILS-TO-TRAILS CONVERSION

MEADOW RIVER RAIL TRAIL

GREENBRIER AND FAYETTE COUNITES, WEST VIRGINIA

The Meadow River Rail Trail is an approximately 24-mile project in Fayette and Greenbrier Counties in West Virginia. GEG is currently managing approximately $4M in grant funding for the project. GEG was able to secure an approximately $1.8M grant from the Abandoned Mine Lands Pilot Program for the project.

The trail is being completed in phases. All phases are expected to be complete by 2024. This project is a tremendous economic driver for southern West Virginia.

 

BROWNFIELDS REDEVELOPMENT

FORMER LEWISBURG WHOLESALE BUILDING

RONCEVERTE, WEST VIRGINIA

GEG is managing the remediation of the former Lewisburg Wholesale Building. The project received a USEPA Brownfields Clean-Up Grant. GEG is providing Licensed Remediaiton Specialist services. The end-use plans for the property include additonal access for the nearby Ronceverte Riverfront Park.

 

BROWNFIELDS REDEVELOPMENT

FORMER HINTON ICE HOUSE PROPERTY

HINTON, WEST VIRGINIA

GEG is working with the City of Hinton and the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority to remediation the former Hinton Ice House property in Hinton, West Virginia. The project received a USEPA Brownfields Clean-Up Grant. GEG is providing Licensed Remediation Specialist services and assisting with end-use planning.
